Electronics Contract Manufacturing

Electronics for the Aerospace Industry

Seat Controls. Flight Simulators. Lunar Landing Equipment.

A Foundation of Success

An electronics manufacturer can be part of a long supply chain and, with the AS 9100  certification for aerospace and Nadcap accreditation on its side, Matric can assure customers that its part of the process is held to the highest standards.

Matric has won awards for maintaining on-time delivery.  The award qualifications include: a level of quality of less than 3,000 DPM, or 99.7%; on-time delivery of 95% or better; and a minimum sales total.

If you would like more information about how a full-service contract manufacturer can augment the abilities of your company and your equipment in the aerospace industry, fill out the form, let us know how we can help, and we will send you more information on what Matric can do for you.

The quality of your aerospace design process can be a life-or-death matter. In those cases, which contractor would you prefer: a mindless assembly line, or a full-service partner that can help improve your design?

The IPC categorizes aerospace and other Class 3 electronics as “high-reliability,” meaning they’re mission-critical. When safety is at stake -- especially that of your end user -- it’s important that you work with an aerospace electronics manufacturer with experience in Class 3 PCB design and assembly.

EXPLORING POTENTIAL AEROSPACE ELECTRONICS MANUFACTURERS?

LOOK FOR THESE QUALITIES

Matric, a full-service aerospace PCB assembly contract manufacturer, works not only with government and military partners, but also with private companies.

Unlike many other electronics contract manufacturers (ECMs), we specialize in Class 3 electronics. We’ll help you meet intrinsic safety requirements for aerospace and military PCB assembly -- and here’s how:

CERTIFICATIONS

Your electronic contract manufacturer (ECM) needs to have all the requirements covered up-front for handling sensitive aerospace design standards.

Matric is ITAR-compliant and fully certified in AS9100D. ITAR compliance helps you prevent violations, lost contracts, and legal problems. Being an AS9100D certified company means we’ve proven our internal structure ensures product safety and reliability for aerospace PCBs.

ABILITY

It’s a given that you want your contractor to possess proven precision in placing aerospace electronic components. Matric takes the relationship a step further by providing valuable design advice.

With Class 3 products, there are certain quality marks you have to hit -- or else you’re stuck in orbit. We may, for example, pay particular attention to a certain assembly option that would be an afterthought to a quick-turn PCB board house or a less qualified ECM.

Our technicians are fully trained in both through-hole and surface mount technologies. We can even take your existing through-hole PCB design and adapt it for surface mounting.

TRAINING

Aerospace engineering and design is tricky.

Are your ECM’s employees not just certified, but also well trained in handling sensitive projects? Matric makes sure all employees who will be involved in your project have the right training, not just some of them.

TESTING

An ECM should have high-tech inspection equipment in-house to shorten the supply chain. This will ensure issues are ironed out before your product launches.

Matric handles prototyping and testing in-house. Available testing includes:

  • Functional testing
  • Visual inspection
  • X-ray inspection
  • Flying probe testing
  • In-circuit testing
  • Automatic optical inspection (AOI) testing
  • BGA inspection
  • System simulation

SECURITY

Matric is capable of designing and assembling military & aerospace electronics for even the most sensitive projects. Our IP protection systems, enforced through all stages of development keep your design out of the wrong hands:

  • A secure network for incoming information
  • Outgoing portals for sending testing, inspection, and certification documentation
  • Data is backed up every 15 minutes
  • Use of protected programs (such as Office 365)
  • No outside-the-office access to any IP-related data
  • An ECM system that’s password-protected and ITAR-controlled
  • No drawings or other sensitive materials are left lying around, and materials which are no longer needed are shredded
  • Close monitoring of visitors -- labels, photo IDs, sign-in and sign-out enforcement, special jackets, and cellphone/camera bans
